Musical Director - David Court

David began his musical career at the age of 4, studying the violin and viola in Norwich. As a boy he also loved singing and sang in many operas and choirs.

He chose the teaching profession as his career and moved to Nottingham where he became a headteacher for twenty nine years. Despite this he continued to play the violin and led over forty orchestras in concerts and operas as well as developing his conducting skills. As musical director of several societies in the Midlands he conducted over thirty operas and musicals including the world premiere of “The Quaker Girl”.

Since moving to Macclesfield in 2002, David has conducted shows with the Mid-Cheshire, Bollington and Knutsford Operative Societies.

David was appointed as Musical Director of the Macclesfield Male Voice Choir in 2005 and has conducted performances in Germany, Denmark, The Czech Republic, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man.



Associate Conductor - Robert Owens


Robert is a 19 year old tenor based in Manchester, in his second year of undergraduate studies at The Royal Northern College of Music. He currently studies voice with principal study tutor and professional singer and conductor Mathew Best. He has now been studying at the RNCM for several years, as he also studied at the Junior RNCM with principal study tutor Jeffrey Lawton.


Currently, Robert is working as the Musical Director of the Greater Manchester Police Choir, and the Macclesfield Male Voice Choir, alongside studying for his undergraduate degree at the RNCM.

On the concert platform Robert has a varied repertoire, and has performed as a guest soloist in many large venues across Manchester and North Wales. including being invited as a guest soloist on Jonathan Antoine's UK tour at Gawsworth Hall, Macclesfield. Roberts stage experience includes: Dinas Bran - Rolf in The Sound of Music 2014, Dinas Bran - Captain Vontrap from The sound of Music 2015, international University Production of Iolanthe Chorus 2015, RNCM Offenbach La Vie Parisienne Chorus 2016, and RNCM Handel Theodora Chorus 2017.

Accompanist - Tatyana Goncharuk

The young pianist Tatyana Goncharuk was born in Ukraine and took her first piano lesson at the age of five. She later studied with Boris Arkhimovich and Nadezhda Arkhimovich at Kyiv M V Lysenko Secondary Specialist Music Boarding School, after which she enrolled at the P I Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine.

In 2007 Tatyana was invited by a world-famous pianist – Prof. Norma Fisher – to pursue her further studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she was awarded a special scholarship. Tatyana's studies were kindly supported by the Musicians Benevolent Fund.

She was the recipient of the First prize in the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists, Mariupol, Ukraine(2006), the RNCM Concerto Competition(2009), the RNCM Piano Recital Prize(2009) and the RNCM Piano Duo Prize(2012). She has appeared in recital at the Bridgewater Hall (Manchester, UK), the Royal Academy of Music (London), the Lotherton Hall (Leeds, UK), the RNCM Concert Hall (Manchester, UK).

Tatyana’s wide repertoire encompasses stylistic panorama of pieces by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Saint-Saens, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Scriabin, Bartok, and the Ukrainian composers Lysenko, Lyatoshinsky, Skoryk.

Away from the concert platform, Tatyana has had lessons and master classes with a number of distinguished pianists, including John Lill, Nelson Goerner, Steven Osborne, Michel Dalberto and Noriko Ogawa. She has also worked with such outstanding conductors as Sir Mark Elder, Carl Davis, Clark Rundell, Timothy Redmond and many distinguished and celebrated artists including Lynne Dawson, Quentin Hayes, Roderick Williams, Christopher Purves and David Kempster. At present Tatyana holds the position of a pianist at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Tatyana was appointed as the Principal Accompanist of the Macclesfield Male Voice Choir in 2008.

The Choir was formed 60 years ago and now numbers over 70 choristers.

We perform concerts locally and further afield including several overseas trips.
