Brief Summary of the 2009 concerts (for last quarter)


Carol Concert at Wythenshawe Hospital

The choir once again was invited to sing to the staff at this fine hospital.The programme included O Holy Night[soloist Mervyn Lovatt],Somewhere in my memory,A Medley of Christmas Carols,Calon Lan,and Let there be Peace on Earth.The audience joined the choir singing 6 carols.John Gracie entertained us with two solo guitar items.Pauline Davies conducted half the programme.The evening was very enjoyable which was enhanced by the mulled wine and mince pies.


Remembrance Concert at Bollington Methodist Church

The choir joined forces with the Bollington Brass Band for this concert.The choir sang 11 items including Battle Hymn of the Republic,Chess Anthem,God's Choir,The Lost Chord,You Raise Me Up{soloist Tim Neale]and You'll Never Walk Alone.The church was packed out and listened intently to the choir and band.


Concert at Saint Cuthbert's Church Cheadle

A full church listened to a very varied programme from the choir. Songs sung included A Cole Porter Medley, Dashenka,  If You Want To Know Who We Are,  An American Trilogy Entrance and March of the Peers,  Watching the Wheat,   Bridge over Troubled Water and Morte Christe.

Solo Items included David Court and Tetiana Goncharuk playing a violin sonata by Dvorak and Joe Ravenscroft and Martin Tute sang two duets The Gendarmes and The Battle Eve.

The venue was acoustically very good and the choir look forward to a return visit.
