THE MMVC

The Macclesfield Male Voice Choir (MMVC) was established in 1955 and currently has over 55 members, all drawn from within the old Macclesfield Bourgh.  We perform locally virtually every month and support charitable fund-raising concerts throughout East Cheshire.  Recently we raised over £3,000 from a concert at St. Michael’s church in aid of the Leonard Cheshire Foundation and the Macclesfield Drop-In Centre. In June the choir performed at the Royal Northern College of Music, attended by the Lord Mayor of Manchester and several Town Mayors, in a charity concert in aid of CALL.  The choir has toured internationally in Canada and Ireland and, in 2006, achieved a Bronze Award at the Prague Festival of Advent Music.

New members are always welcome and there is no need for any choral experience: all we seek is someone with the love and enjoyment of singing.  We operate a ‘buddy’ system where all new members are paired with an experienced chorister to help them learn the music and introduce them to fellow choir members.

Everybody interested in singing is invited, without obligation, to sit-in on one or more of our rehearsals and enjoy the music.
